BIO:~UArticle from newspaper~u ~BMichael Canny is Deere Retiree~b R. V. Johnson, general superintendent of John Deere Ottumwa Works, announces the retirement of ~BMichael E. Canny~b effective today. Canny has been employed in the plant security group for 23 years. He resides at 620 N. Cooper.
~BMichael Canny~b ~BMichael Edward Canny~b, 69, of 620 N. Cooper St., died at 9:15 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Hospital. He had been ill the past two months. He was a retired John Deere watchman, born in Ottumwa July 19, 1904, the son of ~BAnthony and Katherine Hannon Canny~b. He had been an Ottumwa resident all his life. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus. Surviving are his mother, at home; five brothers, Charles P. and James M., both of Ottumwa; Patrick F. of Waterloo; Anthony P. of Pasadena, Calif.; and Joseph P. of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters,
Agency; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and three brothers. The body is at the Jay Funeral Home.
~BCanny services~b Funeral services for ~BMichael Edward Canny~b, 69, 620 N. Cooper, who died Friday at St. Joseph Hospital, will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Marvin Siegert will celebrate a Requiem Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Broich, Max Stein, Frank Brothers, and Charles Erland. Active pallbearers will be Jim Schwartz, Jack Larkin, Bud Carr, Fred Wells, Ross Beghtol, and Francis Mullins. The Rosary will be recited tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Jay Funeral Home, for friends, members of Sacred Heart parish and the Knights of Columbus.
