BIO:~BJohn Charles Muchow ~bwas born in Postville, Iowa October 31, 1900. He
passed away in Ottumwa, Iowa May 26, 1991. He is buried in Calvary
Cemetery, Ottumwa, Iowa.

Agency--~BMargaret M. Muchow~b, 89, of Agency died at 3:30 p.m. Sept.
5, 1996, at Ottumwa Manor.
She was born March 11, 1907, to Anthony P. and Katherine Hannon
Canny. She married ~BJohn C. Muchow~b on Aug. 3, 1930, in Chicago, Ill.;
he died May 26 1991.
She was Deputy Wapello County Recorder for seven years and
Wapello County Recorder for 18 years, retiring in 1975. She was a
member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary
Society.
She is survived by four daughters, ~BJeanne M. Callas, Marjorie A.



of Fremont; 25 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; two
great-great-granddaughters; and a brother, ~BJoseph P. Canny~b of San
Diego, Calif.
She was preceded in death by a son, ~BThomas J. Muchow~b, a sister

P., Patrick F., Edward P., Daniel J., ~BCharles P. Canny~b and an infant
brother and a grandson.
The service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic
Church, the Rev. James Grubb officiating. Burial will be in Calvary
Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 9. a.m. Sunday at Reece Funeral Home.
Christian wake service will be 7 p.m. Sunday followed by family
visitation until 8:30 p.m.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
A memorial has been established to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

AGENCY--~BJohn C. Muchow Sr., ~b90, of 119 E. Main St. in Agency died
at 8:15 p.m. May 26 1991, at Ottumwa Manor.
He was born Oct. 31, 1900, in Postville to John and Mamie Erwin
Muchow. He married ~BMargaret M. Canny~b on Aug. 3, 1930.
He lived near Ottumwa most of his life and lived in Agency since
1973. He was employed at John Morrell and Co. for 25 years, retiring
in 1965.
He is survived by his wife; four daugthers, ~BJeanne M. Callas~b of
Ottumwa, ~BMarjorie A. "Sue"~b~B Huffman~b of Ottumwa Route 1, ~BHelen Barwick~
of Lewisburg, Penn., and ~BDorothy McNutt~b of Fort Smith, Ark.; three
sons, John Jr. and Timothy of Ottumwa and William E. "Ed" of Fremont;
24 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; two sisters, ~BMargaret Levy~b
of Des Moines, and ~BMarie Moses~b of Prairie DeChien, Wis.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Thomas Joseph; a
grandson; and six brothers, Clarence, Joseph, Walter, Guy, Enos, and
Hall.
The service will be 1 p.m. today at Reece Funeral Home in
Ottumwa, the Rev. James Grubb of Sacred Heart Catholic Church
officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, ~BDennis Callas~b, David D., Michael
and ~BDan Huffman~b, Jon, Mark and ~BSteve Muchow~b, Chris and ~BBrian McNutt~b
and ~BAlan Barwick~b.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
